Bodil Kjær aimed to design vases with "inner walls" to make flowers look more natural, as if they were growing wild. She envisioned a vase that would highlight a single branch or flower, rather than an entire bouquet. Her goal was to create forms that could interlock, allowing for the creation of large indoor floral arrangements. This vision led to the creation of the cross vases.
Manufactured by Gullaskruf Glasbruk, Sweden for Torben Oerskov & Co, Denmark from 1962 to 1978.
