Marked with the foundry stamp, artist's signature, and a plaque on the base.
Condition: In excellent condition.

Biography :
​Joaquim Anglés Cańé was a Spanish sculptor born on August 19, 1859, in Tortosa, Spain, and passed away on May 10, 1911, in Paris, France. Initially trained in drawing, he turned to sculpture at the age of twenty-two, despite not having formal education in an academy or workshop. ​
Anglés Cańé established his studio in Barcelona, where he produced numerous works and participated in annual exhibitions in both Barcelona and Zaragoza. In 1890, he began exhibiting at the Salon des Artistes Français, earning an honorable mention in 1899. ​
His oeuvre includes notable sculptures such as "Abandonado a la playa," "Conversión del lobo," "Macbeth," "Caballero de Luis XIII," and statues of Charles III and Saint Gabriel. He also created busts of D'Artagnan, the Count of Campomanes, and Evaristo Churruca, as well as reliefs like "San Francisco de Paula" and "Conversión del bandolero por San Francisco."
