Italian ship portraits painter (19th century): Ship portrat of the schooner Kammerherre Schütte. Horsens, Denmark. Watercolor / pastel on paper. 39 x 56 cm. Unsigned.
Unframed.
The Schooner was built in Horsens 1877 by shipbuilder Johan Jacob Christian Schrøder (born 1838). In the ship register, the ship has number 1241. NRKD, Oak forged with yellow metal. Net :. 192 1/6 register ton. Owned by an A / S represented by SJ Krogh.
Kammerherre Schütte was a very wealthy man and owned, among other things, Bygholm Castle and Ålborg Glassworks, etc. One of Horsens honorary citizens.
The work is presumptive from 1877/1878, where the ship was in the Mediterranean with goods - presumably tar, hemp and flax - and perhaps fish from Norway.
